OGX: Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco – Intense Moisturising Treatment | Product Review

I was in the market for a new conditioner and seeing Ms.Super Consumer finishing product after product from the Organix (OGX) brand with an unwavering loyalty, I thought I should also try something from their inventory so I decided to go for the Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco РIntense Moisturising Treatment.

Daiso | Beauty Haul

This word “Daiso” brings such immense happiness to me, perhaps because it helps fuel my endless consumerism! For those of you who are not aware, Daiso is a Japanese 100 Yen¬†store¬†(100 Yen = 60 INR approx), kind of like an american dollar store; with an endless variety of goods at very -very economical costs. My first Daiso Experience was at Singapore at the Vivocity Mall and I wanted to buy the whole store! I had purchased a¬†mix of stationary, home goods and candy then.¬†Its been a while since I have been using that stuff and I have realised in spite of being exceptionally economical they are of great quality. So a few months back my (very accommodating) friend Nidhi,¬†author of Motoholic Works (check out her blog for some amazing motorcycle artwork) was travelling to India from Japan and asked me whether I wanted some stuff from Japan. Obviously I did and I gave her a gigantic¬†– overwhelmingly long list of Diaso products and she got it all!

Urban Ladder- Review & Purchase Experience

Urban Ladder is a popular Furniture E-store in India and they have been around for a while now. They have a very nicely done webpage, by that I mean very few dead links and well-organized content. The products look great too and I have spent a lot of time +¬†data packs browsing through their wares adding stuff to wish list but never mustering enough¬†courage to spend that much money on furniture without actually seeing it. But then around December 2016 they had the “Honestly Good Sale” where the prices were slashed up to 50% so I thought this opportunity was too good to be passed. (Obviously,¬†my consumerism knows no bounds!) I wanted a table¬†lamp so I decided to buy the “Hedwig Table Lamp”.

This is how it is presented on the website:

Patanjali Dant Kanti Toothpaste – worth all the noise its making?

Today I am reviewing the very popular Patanjali Dant Kanti Toothpaste. Yeah.. yeah, its associated with Ramdev Baba and the humdrum around his FMCG Brand- Patanjali. Amidst all the noise with linked keywords like Propaganda, Yoga, Marketing gimmick, Ayurveda, Politics, Nepotism etc etc one cannot deny the fact that Patanjali rose to a Rs. 5,000-crore company in less than a decade, due to which other MNCs have been forced to shift focus on Ayurveda too. I have also mentioned this in the Ultra Blends post here. Hypothetically even if the associated keywords are true, the renewed interest in natural ingredients is a definite good thing! To be honest I would have never tried Dant Kanti but my Dentist recommended it!

Romance Scam

Internet savvy people are well aware of the online Nigerian scams. They are of various kinds, the 419 scam, where they offer to transfer a lot of money into your bank account, or the lottery scam, where they tell you that you’ve won something in some phony¬†lottery etc. But in a¬†dating scam (also known as romance scam), besides just asking for money the scammers build a bogus persona complete with an attractive image to trap¬†unsuspecting victims.

Shalocks Hair Oil – an unexpected winner!

I have never been a fan of oiling my hair. For a large part of my life I went without ever oiling my hair, which gradually had its repercussion and¬†so began the quest of finding an oil that was more than just¬†a colossal pain to wash off. I came across this one only by chance when the shopkeeper of a very busy wholesale beauty supply store pushed it on me. I almost didn’t buy it because of its price but my doting Ma bought it for me. Perhaps she thought maybe¬†this will get her daughter to oil her hair, and it definitely did!

Chanel 2.55

Today I am taking a look at yet another iconic piece of design, fashion design to be accurate. Amongst the many fields of Design, fashion is very popular and easily understood by laymen. Especially in India if you say ” I am a Designer”, majority will think¬†“Haan kapde silti hogi” (must be sewing clothes), and assume you are a Fashion Designer.¬†For this (amongst other) reason designers from other design disciplines tend to take fashion design with a pinch of salt. But like any other field of design be it Industrial or Furniture, Fashion¬†Design also has the same core values and the final outcome is a reflection of the designer and their inspiration. Of course the¬†Form vs. Function debate is also very valid in the field of Fashion Design. So today I am taking a look at one such piece of iconic design that was born out of necessity and went on to become an icon in the world of Fashion Design – The Chanel 2.55 Handbag.

Hello Kitty’s World Domination

Recently a very special munchkin came into my life and I wanted to buy a soft toy for her, my first choice was a cute cow because “Gaay humari maata hai” and the socio-political weather in India calls for every child and adult to know this by heart! But looked like the Cow Plush was very popular and was¬†out of stock in no time. So ¬†I bought a Hello Kitty¬†instead, but the munchkin’s mummy didnt know what a high roller Hello Kitty was in the world of Graphic Design!¬†So I thought along with her I will take you guys¬†on this introductory journey through the world of this cute white cat which strangely has no mouth and yet is the most recognisable graphic on this planet.

Bio Oil – Thoughts & First Impression

I have been using Bio Oil since September 2016 and have gone through 3/4th¬†of the bottle yet I am¬†not sure if¬†I should review it already, so I am calling this post a “Thoughts & First Impression”. Also I see a lot of folks going through many bottles and claiming miraculous results so I have decided to wait for the miracle. (That is not sarcasm- I just felt the need to clarify!)

The Body Shop: White Musk Smoky Rose Body Mist – Review

In the past few years I have become very sensitive to smells. In my teen years I wouldn’t mind wearing the strongest of perfumes and still be upbeat and functional. But lately I cant do that anymore, most strong scents annoy my system and I start feeling sick or develop a mild head ache. Moreover with age I feel ones taste in fragrance also changes, rather develops! I have started to understand that I am drawn to warm, woody , amber-y balsamic fragrances. So, today I am reviewing one such fragrance that I came across only¬†by chance.
