Bioderma Sensibio H2O – Lazy Girl’s Makeup Remover!

In my teen years when I was discovering makeup, (by that I mean secretly trying on stuff seen on Mom’s dressing table) loads of time was spent at the sink scrubbing and rubbing stuff off using soap & water. The reddened eyes were a clear giveaway that I had been into mom’s stuff. Gradually I realized there are easier and more efficient ways to remove makeup. Time passed and that passing time saw me use olive oil, coconut oil, wipes and many a different eye+lip makeup remover that never fetched satisfactory results. Then I got a job and with it came disposable income that gave me courage ( on a pay-day) to try the Bioderma Sensibio H2O! (Dramatic Music) ….and then my life changed…. not really, but I definitely save time and no more reddened eyes!

Review:

Bioderma Sensibio H2O is a miceller water based formula to remove makeup. Miceller water contains micells that are tiny droplets of oil suspended in soft water. They are attracted to dirt + oil and  removes them without drying out the skin.

bioderma

The basic formula of the product is OK for sensitive skin, in turn making it OK for other skin types. It has a very faint smell, which is quite pleasant. ( It kind of smells like the patli malai of a tender coconut!) It is gentle while being efficient and this is why I seem to like it, although it does struggles a bit with waterproof mascara! It sweeps away the makeup without smearing it all over like some other products. I absolutely love the fact that you don’t need to rinse your face after using this. I still do; but all of us know there are times when you just want to hit the bed, and on those days I love this product a little more than usual!  I have sensitive eyes so I never really dared to clean the water line with other products but with this its no problem. After using Bioderma Sensibio H2O I have noticed that the eye gunk, that crust + eyeliner colored slime seen stuck in the corner of the eyes after waking up, has significantly reduced!

PROS:

  • Removes all types of makeup easily.
  • Gentle, almost fragrance-free formula.
  • Doesn’t leave an oily residue that requires rinsing.

CONS:

  • Expensive
  • Not very effective with waterproof mascara.

Closing Thoughts:

You need to try it to understand why its priced so high, so I highly recommend you do. Start with the smallest bottle and tell me how it fared. Let me know if you have tried this or any other miceller waters yet and what are your thoughts about it?

  1. Wow this is sounds like a really good option! I rememeber doing the same thing and then started using a mary kay product for it. Right now I use the coconut oil because I feel it is not harsh on my skin at all. Thanks for sharing! 😄
